About Pastor Zavius J. Kidd
Zavius Kidd is a native of Sylacauga, Alabama. He is the son of Prophetess Felicia (Lisa) Kidd Dancy. Kidd attended the Sylacauga City School system for a period of time until he transferred to the Talladega County School system during his primary and secondary educational journey. Kidd is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of B. B. Comer Memorial High School. During his time in high school, he was President of the Student Council, National Sr. Beta Club, and the FOCUS Program. He also served as Chaplain for the National Jr. Beta Club, and Vice President of the National Sr. Beta Club before assuming the role of president. He held many other leadership roles in other clubs and organizations that he was a member of. Kidd was nominated in February of 2011, then received “Student of the Month” in August of 2013 and in March of 2015. Kidd also received an academic letter in May of 2013 and later an academic bar in May of 2016 and 2017.
Kidd is a graduate of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama where he majored in Integrated Studies with a background in Early Childhood Elementary Education. During his time in Jacksonville, he was involved in several clubs and organizations such as Freshman Forum, C-Leg (Collegiate Legislature) (2 years) , SAC (Student Activities Council)(6 years), SGA (Student Government Association) Senator (5 years), JSU Ambassadors (3 years), NAACP (4 years), and the SGA Chaplain (2 years). He was also elected by his peers to the JSU Homecoming Court as a King Candidate as well as held the title of Mr. Jax State.
Not only has he shown servant leadership during his primary, secondary, and collegiate level educational arena. Kidd has shown his willingness to serve at his home church. Kidd went through 3 years of M-I-T (Ministers In Training) classes through Jehovah Shalom International Kingdom Ministries. Thereafter, Kidd received his ministerial license on November 25th, 2012 and was later ordained as a Pastor on September 24th, 2017 by Apostle Dr. Deborah Dancy, Founder & Senior Pastor of Jehovah Shalom International Kingdom Ministries, where he served as an Associate Pastor, Youth Minister, Assistant Media Director, the Media Director, Minister of Music, Director of Men's Ministry, Youth Minister, and Pastors’ Protege within the several years that he has been a member of JSIKM. Shortly after his ordination, Pastor Kidd was appointed to serve as the Youth Pastor at Jehovah Shalom International Kingdom Ministries on Sunday, January 7th, 2018 by Apostle Dr. Deborah Dancy. In June of 2021, Pastor Kidd accepted the role and responsibilities of Administrative Pastor at Jehovah Shalom International Kingdom Ministries. To some Pastor Kidd is known as “The Kidd Preacher.”
As he began ministering through various means of social media, he was contacted by Magilla Entertainment to travel to New York for a Teen Preacher Opportunity project where he would be featured as the first of many teen preachers throughout the United States.
Pastor Kidd has completed several hours of community services by volunteering with several organizations within his hometown. Pastor Kidd is the Founder & Executive Director of both Jesus Freaks & Prayers For A Cause. Through these two ministries, students from county and city schools were able to host either bible studies, prayer around the flagpole, and community prayer days. Through all these and other efforts Pastor Kidd was featured in the newspaper, on local television, and even on the radio on several occasions throughout his life. Also, Pastor Kidd is the Host of Kidd’s Corner, an interactive vlog/podcast and traveling organization that does workshops, training, and talk shows about Motivation, Education, Awareness, and Leadership.
Pastor Kidd has received awards and honors of distinction such as: The Marching Sound of Gold Outstanding Band Member; Graduate of Leadership Sylacauga, Leader to Learn From presented by Talladega County School Superintendent, Dr. Suzanne Lacey; Rising Star Student presented by WBRC Fox 6 News; Star Student of the Month presented by WOIL TV 47; Peer Mentor presented by Jacksonville State University Dean of Students office.
Pastor Kidd is a very helpful young man who is willing to work and serve others in his community. He plans to obtain his doctorate degree in ministry and educational leadership. With many talents and goals in life, he believes that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.
